Dormant fans. Bootstrapping from scratch. The Comeback.
“Peter Sage is the world renowned international & serial entrepreneur, author, philosopher and teacher.” -Something that ended very abruptly when he was sentenced to 18 months in prison. Upon his release, he found himself without his former team of 50+ staff and in the position of having to bootstrap and start anew.
Peter Sage was ready to get back on the scene & even to publish his latest book: The inside track – which he wrote during his stay at Pentonville.
Unfortunately however, during his time in prison his following diminished. His resources to mobilize campaigns weren’t what he was accustomed to either.
Challenge
The challenge was to reconnect with former fans, revive the online presence he had & to explore avenues of reaching new, like minded people – ON A BUDGET.
Outcome
SpreadFunnel Marketing helped Peter Sage with scaling and growing the business from a standstill hiatus to sustainability followed by ongoing sustainable growth.

Developing the Strategy
After doing a situation analysis & familiarizing myself with Peter’s business, products & services along with his goals: strategy meetings took place where we built the Marketing & Operations plans. These became the foundation for the marketing plans for the following 2 years.
Weekly PPP (Planning, Processes & Procedures) meetings assured that we’re on track along the way.
Understanding
the Audience
The challenge was twofold:
- Identify Peter’s past audiences and reconnect with them effectively.
- Identify Peter’s Audience Personas and start reaching more like minded audiences.
We ran a strong campaign communicating to disengaged fans that they can be a part of the unique book launch event & gain massively from participating and helping the cause at the right time – launch.
Campaigns
An idea surfaced that we could create an 11 day build-up in a facebook group, with each day being a chapter teaser & Unique Value Proposition to get the book on launch day.
The campaign was a tremendous success in reaching both old fans and new followers.
The event got an astounding 1100 participants with a 40% conversion to participants of the reached luke-warm audience, which in turn yielded dozens of orders on launch day.
The book got featured as Amazon #1 Best Seller in its primary category (stress management) and in JUST SHY OF TOP 10, in 11th place under the cut-throat category self-help.
The campaign set the stage for the development and introduction of further products ranging from £10 to £5000 to audiences with demand through future organic & boosted campaigns as well as future cold campaigns and events.
Website & Academy Platform
We built and rebuilt the core website & Academy Platform for the online courses several times during the 2 years of collaboration, keeping up with the needs of the growing Business.
Iterations of the website were built using ClickFunnels & WordPress.
The Academy platform grew on Kajabi and eventually got migrated to Kartra.

Both in 2018 & 2019 Peter Sage’s signature event: “The Sage Business School” was organised and run with the help of SpreadFunnel Marketing Agency.
We had hundreds of attendees LIVE as well as via the SpreadFunnel managed Live-Stream.
Results
Peter Sage got back into the game successfully and throughout the 2 years of collaborating with SpreadFunnel, the business never stopped growing.
